Our Pastor

Reverend Milton Charles Walker, Sr. is the Senior Pastor of the East Nineteenth Street Missionary Baptist Church in Austin, Texas. Commonly referred to as “M.C.”, Pastor Walker is revered by those who know him as a gifted teacher, leader and servant who has dedicated his life to preaching the uncompromising Word of God.

Raised in St. John Colony (a rural community southeast of Austin, Texas), M.C. Walker attended and graduated from Lockhart HighSchool in Lockhart, Texas. After graduating, he attended the University of Texas at Austin, Huston-Tillotson University and Guadalupe Evangelical College in San Antonio, Texas. After attending seminary, he served at his home church, St. John Regular Missionary Baptist Church, in St. John Colony, for four years. In 1978, he was called to pastor the East Nineteenth Street Missionary Baptist Church where he has served for 41 years.

Since 2009, he has served as the President of the South Central Regional Convention of the Missionary Baptist General Convention of Texas, where he also serves as the Second-Vice Chairman of the Home Mission Board. In 2015, he was selected to serve as the Second-Vice Moderator of the St. John Regular Baptist District Association, where he also serves as chair of the association’s Evangelical Hour, and is an advisor to the Senior Mission I Auxiliary.

Pastor M.C. Walker, Sr. is a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He and his beautifully spirited wife, Sharon K. Walker, are the proud parents of five children and grandparents.
